Church of Saint Paisios

In the spirit of paternal care and constant concern for strengthening the spiritual and pastoral presence of the Holy Orthodox Church, and with the generous support of the Orthodox Cultural Association, a plot of land in the Marj al-Hamam area was donated and registered in the name of the Patriarchate, paving the way for the construction of a new church that will serve as a spiritual and pastoral center for the parishioners in the region.

This project comes in response to the noticeable increase in the number of Christian families in the area and their need for a church building that will provide spiritual, pastoral, and social support for their members, enhance the Church’s presence and mission in the lives of the faithful, and contribute to strengthening faith and fostering a spirit of fellowship and love.

Vision: To be a living center and spiritual beacon that promotes the Orthodox presence in the region, and serves successive generations through spiritual education, pastoral and social activities.

Mission

Working to provide comprehensive spiritual and pastoral care through:

Regularly holding prayers and Divine Liturgy services.

Establishing Sunday schools and programs for Christian formation and education.
Organizing pastoral and social activities that serve families, the elderly, and youth.
Fostering a spirit of fellowship, love, and unity among the parishioners.

Project Objectives

Construction Objective

The construction of the church, hall and necessary service facilities will be completed within an estimated period of between five and eight years, in accordance with the highest standards.

Spiritual Goal

To provide a living spiritual center that embraces prayers, liturgy and church sacraments, and contributes to strengthening believers in their faith and church life.

Pastoral Goal

Providing a comprehensive pastoral service that accompanies families, children, youth and the elderly,
and meets their spiritual and social needs.

Educational Objective

Establishing sustainable Christian upbringing and education programs that deepen knowledge of the Orthodox faith among different age groups, and contribute to preparing generations connected to their church and its mission.

Social and Strategic Objective

Establishing an active and sustainable church presence in the Marj Al Hamam area, and promoting a spirit of fellowship, love and solidarity among the parishioners, in order to serve the growth of the church and its mission in the region.
